The RICOH fi-7480 is designed for organisations that require high-performance document capture in a compact desktop scanner. Supporting documents from A8 to A3, as well as folded A2 and A1 documents, plastic cards, and mixed media, it offers the flexibility needed for a wide variety of document management and business workflows.

The scanner processes up to 80 pages per minute or 160 images per minute in duplex mode and features a 100-sheet automatic document feeder for continuous batch scanning. Mixed document batches can be scanned without pre-sorting, helping reduce preparation time and improve productivity. Additional documents can also be added during scanning without interrupting the workflow.

Advanced paper handling technologies help ensure reliable document transport across different paper types and thicknesses ranging from 27 to 413 g/m². Intelligent Sonic Paper Protection (iSOP) monitors paper movement using acoustic sensors to reduce the risk of document damage, while Skew Reducer technology helps prevent one misaligned document from affecting subsequent pages. Together with the brake roller mechanism and independently adjustable side guides, these features support consistent scanning of mixed document batches.

The integrated LCD display provides quick access to scanner status, settings, paper counters, and predefined scanning profiles created with PaperStream Capture. The fi-7480 also includes PaperStream IP for automatic image enhancement and Scanner Central Admin software, allowing multiple scanners to be monitored, managed, and maintained remotely from a central location.
