The Kodak S5180 is a high-speed desktop production scanner for service bureaus, business process outsourcing organisations and corporate scanning departments. It scans up to 180 pages per minute, or 360 images per minute in duplex, at 200 or 300 dpi. It is designed for unlimited daily scanning volumes.

Its automatic 750-sheet elevator allows operators to load batches of 100, 250, 500 or 750 sheets, helping to keep high-volume scan jobs moving. The scanner handles diverse document mixes, including fragile and extra-thick originals. Five independent ultrasonic zones help identify multi-feeds, while Intelligent Document Protection alerts operators to potential issues before they result in jams or damaged documents.

Dynamic Flow Technology supports efficient scanning, image processing and data extraction. Automatic image rotation and skew detection help produce correctly oriented, straight images and reduce the need for manual correction. Barcode reading can provide data directly to compatible applications, while controlled stacking keeps documents organised after scanning.

The touchscreen control panel is designed for clear viewing from two ergonomic operating positions. USB 2.0 connectivity, with USB 3.0 compatibility, supports integration with Windows-based applications through TWAIN, ISIS and WIA drivers. Kodak Capture Pro Software and Kodak Info Input Solution are available as optional software.
