The Image Access BookTEK 5 V1A is designed for organisations digitising oversized books, bound volumes, and valuable collection materials. It supports originals up to 25 × 36 inches and provides a flexible scanning setup for large-format books, thick volumes, fragile originals, and materials that cannot be fully opened.‍

Its fixed book cradle supports books weighing up to 30 kg and accommodates spine widths of up to 20 cm. The motorised, height-adjustable glass plate can be opened to a user-defined angle and applies controlled pressure during scanning. This allows operators to scan materials flat at 180°, in a V-shaped position, or without the glass plate, depending on the condition of the original.‍

With capture at up to 600 dpi and a scan time of approximately four seconds at full resolution, the BookTEK 5 V1A supports productive digitisation without compromising careful handling. It is designed to meet FADGI 3-star and ISO 19264 image-quality criteria, making it suitable for preservation, research, access, and reproduction workflows.
