The Canon imageFORMULA CR-L1 is a compact cheque scanner designed for organisations that need to process cheques, vouchers and coupons efficiently. Its small footprint makes it suitable for teller counters and other workspaces where available desk space is limited.

The scanner processes up to 45 cheques per minute in black and white or greyscale and up to 20 cheques per minute in colour. Its 50-sheet automatic document feeder supports batch processing, while a suggested daily duty cycle of up to 3,000 scans makes it suitable for regular transaction-processing workloads.

Canon’s paper handling technology supports different document types from 54 to 108 mm wide and paper weights from 64 to 157 g/m². Infrared double-feed detection and paper thickness adjustment help support reliable feeding and reduce interruptions during scanning.

For cheque recognition, MOCR technology combines Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) and Optical Character Recognition (OCR). Image processing functions such as Fine Text Filtering, deskew, border removal and edge emphasis help improve the readability and consistency of captured documents.

The built-in imprinter can add information such as dates, incremental numbers and times to the back of cheques during scanning. With duplex capture, resolutions up to 300 dpi and Hi-Speed USB 2.0 connectivity, the CR-L1 supports structured cheque capture and payment processing workflows.
